There’s a whole lot going on at Vance Elementary this summer and lots of opportunities to get your hands dirty, learn about permaculture, and help the schoolyard become the classroom.

>> MILPA – Part 1: Corn Planting and Squash
Milpa is the traditional sustainable, high-yielding farming system of the Americas. This is the first workshop in a season-long series where we will grow corn, beans, squash, sunflowers, sweet potatoes, and other crops in a diverse polyculture (multiple crops grown together in mutually beneficial arrangements). The series will culminate in a homegrown taco feast!
