We have started a little tree nursery in the garden by planting special Pecan seeds!

The students learned about how all trees produce fruits of some kind in order to make more trees and spread themselves around.

We dug nice planting holes and tucked in the pecans, asking and encouraging them to sprout into trees when the weather warms up in the spring.

We’ve also been learning about how water flows through the land and observed how stormwater from a nearby parking lot is washing away mulch and soil from an area of our garden. Students used rocks, sticks, and mulch to try to slow the water down and protect our soil.
