Our mission is to transform the classroom to contextualize learning within the surrounding environment and community. The garden and natural environment become the classroom.
Through a project-based learning model, students will collaborate to solve real-life challenges within their outdoor environments. The process connects them to their classmates, their school, their families, and their community. Their projects offer opportunities to learn on many levels. At the level of the individual, students can develop intrapersonal skills and new ways of thinking, which will serve them a throughout their lifetime. At the group level, students develop collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. Ultimately, these processes promote learning core competencies in a fun and lasting manner.
